Within the framework of Law No. 6550 on the Support of Research Infrastructures, and through the partnership of Atatürk University and TÜBİTAK, the infrastructures of the Eastern Anatolia Observatory (DAG) under the Atatürk University Astrophysics Research and Application Center (ATASAM) and the TÜBİTAK National Observatory (TUG) under TÜBİTAK were brought together, forming Türkiye’s first Joint Research Infrastructure, which was granted qualification status on 25 April 2023.
