PETLAS

Founded in 1976 in Kırşehir, PETLAS is one of the leading companies in the Turkish tire industry. AKO Group, which successfully operated for many years as a wholesaler and retailer in the tire sector, acquired PETLAS in 2005 and transitioned into manufacturing. Over the years, this strategic move has positioned PETLAS as one of Europe’s largest tire manufacturers operating under a single factory.
PETLAS manufactures tires under four different brands, offering a wide portfolio of 300 tread patterns and 3,500 tyre sizes. Its product range serves passenger cars/SUVs, light commercial vehicles, buses/trucks, agricultural vehicles, construction equipment, forklifts, as well as military land and air vehicles.
In the domestic market, sales are carried out through a network of nearly 800 PETLAS dealers, along with OEM partnerships and public sector agreements. In 2025, approximately 85.7% of domestic sales consisted of passenger car tires, followed by 6.8% in the truck/bus segment, 6.5% in the agricultural segment, and 1% in the construction equipment segment.
Established with the vision of eliminating Türkiye’s dependency on imported tires, PETLAS has, through its latest investments, grown into a global player with over 365,000 square meters of indoor production space, a workforce exceeding 5,000 employees, and a broad product range. Today, it proudly stands as “Türkiye’s tire and the choice of the world.”
